The region’s HVACR association grows its membership base by local OEM company

Takyeef Factory LLC, one of the leading OEM manufacturers of HVACR equipment in the Gulf has joined the Eurovent Middle East association, driven by its mission on delivering a broad portfolio of premium international products and underlining its commitment to support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in the region.

Pambansang Samahan NG Inhenyero Mekanikal (PSIM) is the National Association of Mechanical Engineers of the Philippines, whose many members working in the Middle East are active in its respective chapters in the Gulf. Its UAE chapter and Eurovent Middle East have now formalised their longstanding partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding, which includes support for each other’s activities and events, facilitated access to educational activities, and an exchange of experts and speakers whenever feasible.

Eurovent Middle East partners with UNEP to discuss technical developments and capacity building at global conference

Eurovent Middle East has been invited by UNEP to jointly organise two side events during the global climate conference COP28 taking place in Dubai from 30 November to 12 December 2023. The side events will consist of a roundtable on technical developments in cooling for hot ambient temperature countries as well as a panel discussion on certification aspects and capacity building.

Eurovent Middle East successfully completed the first course of its recently introduced HVACR Leadership Academy. 160 registrants from 28 countries had initially signed up for the Air Handling Units (AHU) Specialisation course, comprising 9 online modules. Around 60 attendees qualified for the course certificate, with more to follow over the course of the coming weeks.

Here are three key themes worth exploring for HVAC companies planning their strategy for the region: The first is the resurgence of Dubai, the second is sustainable construction, and the third is KSA’s ambition to be a leader in all spheres in the years ahead. We’ll touch upon each of these briefly along with some key stats.

In January, the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, announced 2023 as the ‘Year of Sustainability’. The announcement is fitting, given that the UAE is set to host the COP28 meeting later this year. As HVACR stands front and centre in discussions related to sustainability, especially in a region dependent on cooling, it is clear that our industry cannot sit on the sidelines and simply watch.

Several years ago, the UAE implemented a regulation which intended to limit the lowest temperature set point to 20 degrees Celsius. While a laudable attempt to cultivate more conscious energy consumption, the regulation has its difficulties. Eurovent Middle East speaks to experts to know more about this requirement and its effects.

Proper installation is a critical part of the project process that can significantly impact an HVAC system's efficiency, lifecycle, and overall performance. However, there are many cases in which quality installation is overlooked or simply not given the necessary attention it deserves. Eurovent Middle East looks at how poor installation processes lead to wrong or inefficient performance and operations and the reasons why…

The Eurovent ‘Energy Efficiency Evaluation of Air Filters for General Ventilation Purposes’ is a valuable, effective, yet largely underutilised tool, especially in projects across the Middle East. Here’s how the guideline can unlock better energy saving, more sustainable operations and ensure greater quality of health.

With exhibitions and conferences in full-swing post-pandemic, so is the efforts of events and organisers to lock in sponsorships. Mahyar Ebrahimi, Head of Content at Strategic Intelligence Forum, explains why a successful conference is not a one-sided journey and what most companies get wrong when participating in an event…
