Eurovent Middle East has published its Annual Report of 2019, looking back on its activities in its third year of existence. As outcome of the two-year Special Project ‘Evaporative Cooling 2030’, the Eurovent Association has published a set of documents including a new Eurovent Recommendation and a dedicated flyer, providing a clear overview of what the evaporative cooling industry saves in terms of CO2 emissions today and what it can save tomorrow. These documents are complemented by the first-ever European evaporative cooling industry monograph providing a clear indication on its size and scope.

Eurovent Middle East has published a Position Paper outlining the socio-economic benefits of introducing a mandatory building inspection regime in the UAE. In light of numerous efforts by government, industries and professional organisations to increase energy efficiency and the countries dependency on cooling and refrigeration, the association suggests giving HVACR installations in the current building stock particular attention.

Eurovent Middle East has announced the next event forming part of its ‘HVACR Leadership Workshop’ series, which will focus on specifying Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and takes place at the Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre on 11 September 2019 from 18:00 to 21:00h. The non-commercial, free-of-charge seminar will see leading industry experts in this field elaborate on key technologies and specifications to reduce energy consumption in existing and future buildings.

Representatives of ISKID (Turkey’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manufacturers’ Association) and Eurovent signed an agreement to jointly organise the 2020 EUROVENTSUMMIT. They announced that the next edition of Europe’s major gathering for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from 22 to 25 September 2020.

Dubai, 30 May 2019. Following a discussion with Eurovent Middle East members and participants of the VRF certification programme, Eurovent Certita Certification adopted the addition of high ambient temperature conditions to its certification programme for variable refrigerant flow systems. Tailormade for the Middle East market, products can now be certified to display their performance in hot or very hot climatic environments.

Braga, Portugal, 24 May 2019. During their 62nd Annual Meeting hosted by EFRIARC (Portuguese association of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers), the Eurovent members have elected Naci Sahin (FRITERM, Turkey) for a second term as President of Europe’s Industry Association for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies. The General Assembly has furthermore adopted a new membership structure, which shall ensure the long-term sustainability of the Eurovent Association beyond the background of changing boundary conditions.
