Industry recommendations for energy efficient indoor air quality solutions

Eurovent Middle East, the region’s industry association for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, will host an expert’s meet & greet on Monday, 20 February 2023 at the Radisson in Riyadh. Set alongside the HVAC&R Expo Saudi, the event will feature expert presentations on minimum requirements for Air Handling Units and Air Filtration, recommendations for the selection of the best equipment and critical aspects of providing a safe air environment to hospitals and operating theatres.

Industry experts discuss the advantages presented by ISO 16890 as a reference standard for air filtration in general ventilation, the level of adoption in the Middle East and the urgent need to promote better practices and more stringent regulations to secure clean air for the future.

Guidance from Eurovent Middle East on standards referenced in the publication

On 01 March 2021 the World Health Organization (WHO) published the ‘Roadmap to improve and ensure good ventilation in the context of COVID-19’ with the intention of providing a globally adopted reference in the best interests of public health and creating awareness for good ventilation practices. The first edition of the publication referenced outdated and obsolete standards, therefore Eurovent supported by Eurovent Middle East, submitted official recommendations to the WHO to revise the references. On 13 April 2021, a corrigendum was published by the WHO to withdraw the obsolete references in the publication. Eurovent Middle East recommends exclusive use of ISO 16890 as the global standard for air filter classification.

Overview of solutions and practices to protect building inhabitants

In view of the projected growth of ventilation solutions as a result of COVID-19, Eurovent Middle East looks at the importance of implementing a regulatory framework to ensure solutions and practices in the region lead to better indoor air quality (IAQ) that will protect building inhabitants in the years to come.

Recommended action for the specification, purchase, installation, operation and maintenance of air filtration systems in critical healthcare appliances

Eurovent Middle East, as the region´s industry association for Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) equipment manufacturers, is encouraging healthcare facilities to carefully observe the following recommendations by the industry to reduce the risks related to the spread of airborne viruses through air filtration and ventilation systems and properly instruct all personnel involved in the specification, purchase, installation, operation and maintenance of such systems.

Recommended action for healthcare facilities, facility management providers, building owners and operators

Eurovent Middle East, as the region´s industry association for Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) equipment manufacturers, is calling on healthcare facilities, building owners, operators and facility management providers to carefully observe the following recommendations by the industry to reduce the risks related to the spread of airborne viruses through ventilation and air-conditioning systems and support the government in its efforts to contain the outbreak.

Next edition of Europe’s HVACR flagship event to take place in Antalya, Turkey

Representatives of ISKID (Turkey’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manufacturers’ Association) and Eurovent signed an agreement to jointly organise the 2020 EUROVENTSUMMIT. They announced that the next edition of Europe’s major gathering for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from 22 to 25 September 2020.

Organisations announce cooperation in the fields of safety and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Dubai, 22 May 2019. UL and Eurovent Middle East have announced their cooperation in the region to work towards higher safety standards in relation to HVAC equipment and installations. Both organisations also will form a joint working group to develop initiatives for improved Indoor Air Quality. To underline this cooperation, UL takes an Associate Membership with Eurovent Middle East.
