In January 2017, representatives of 22 HVACR manufacturers established Eurovent Middle East as the region’s first industry association for heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration. What started as an initiative to enable more coordination among industry stakeholders has become a real driver for knowledge transfer in energy efficiency and indoor air quality. The occasion calls for an outlook to the next five years at our upcoming event in September.
The event features international and regional experts and leaders from the government and private sector to discuss emerging trends and initiatives in the field of sustainable energy.
On Eurovent Middle East’s 5th anniversary, Markus Lattner, Managing Director, fleshes out the long-term impact of an industry association and reflects on the Association’s early days, the challenges of fostering a spirit of cooperation, and the need to challenge the status quo in the region for the good of the industry.
Eurovent Middle East, the region’s Industry Association for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration has announced its 5 years anniversary congress titled ‘HVACR Next Generation: Rethinking policies and strategies’, which takes place on 13-14 September at the LeMeridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre. Government representatives, authorities and industry executives will exchange on the most pressing issues of the industry and discuss policies and strategies for the next decade.
The Association invites to a webinar to discuss the energy efficiency of Air Handling Units in hot and humid conditions. As a crucial part of a cooling and ventilation system, Air Handling Units can be built to a multitude of customer specifications and operating environments. Since January 2022, Eurovent has mandated its certified manufacturers to disclose the energy ratings for hot and humid climates when the products are sold in such environments.
During its Annual Meeting on 22 March 2022, members of the Association of the Region’s Leading HVACR manufacturers re-elected Mr Tariq Al Ghussein (CEO, Taqeef), as President, supported by Mr Rafael Van Eijcken (General Manager, Baltimore Aircoil) as Vice-President. Eurovent Middle East showed strong resilience during the pandemic years, which also manifested in the attendance of 40 representatives from its members, the highest number yet for an Annual Meeting.
robatherm, a German manufacturer specialised in the production of customised Air Handling Units, has joined the association with a commitment to joint industry initiatives in the fields of energy efficiency and Indoor Air Quality. With its recently opened office in Dubai, robatherm has underlined the strategic importance of the Middle East for its future growth.
As part of its core responsibilities, Eurovent Middle East aims to share information on available technology with the region’s market participants. The launch of a dedicated Cooling Tower Guidebook is the latest step in creating awareness and providing a comprehensive overview on a highly energy efficient cooling technology. The association also extends invitation to a physical workshop on evaporative cooling in Dubai.
NOVENCO Building & Industry, part of the SCHAKO Group and a leading provider of energy-efficient and life safety ventilation products and systems has joined the association as a commitment to joint industry initiatives in the fields of standardisation, education and awareness raising. Founded in Denmark in 1947, NOVENCO Building & Industry has set foot in many markets around the world and has been present in the Middle East for 10 years.
The KSA Giga-construction boom was to follow the end of the Expo-FIFA driven project cycle. The pandemic, politics and macro-economics have unfortunately delayed the hand-over in this construction market relay and HVAC businesses that were shielded from the economic fallout of the gap in the project development during 2020 are now experiencing a painful market contraction.
