Set of information on recent developments at CEN and ISO level on Building Information Modelling (BIM) and construction product digitisation

The teams of Eurovent and PRODBIM have prepared an article for members on recent developments in Building Information Modelling (BIM) CEN TC442 standardisation activities and construction product information digitisation. PRODBIM, a subsidiary of Eurovent Services Company, is participating to CEN TC442 & BuildingSMART working groups, and is compiling a summary of the CEN TC 442 as well as ISO TC 59 SC13 works on BIM standardisation.

With the introduction of the ‘Copilot Certificate’ for building performance, Eurovent, REHVA and synavision set a new European standard for the construction industry. The signing of the agreement on 11 October paved the way for the launch of the world's first building and facility certificate. Builders use the certificate to ensure that their buildings undergo effective quality management.

Seville, 25 September 2018. The ‘Welcome Reception by the Eurovent President’ saw the official opening ceremony of the 2018 Eurovent Summit in Seville, Spain. Through a ribbon-cutting session, the Eurovent President Naci Şahin, the organisers and the representatives of Summit supporters have welcomed close to 500 high-ranking guests from Spain, Europe and beyond to Eurovent’s biennial flagship event. The evening was opened with an official speech by Naci Sahin, which can be read below.

The Eurovent Summit’s Innovation/HUB in Seville sees industry leaders presenting in a TED-style manner

Brussels, 26 July 2018. The Eurovent Association has announced its programme for the second edition of the Eurovent Innovation/HUB, the flagship event of the 2018 Eurovent Summit, powered by ebm-papst. The event, which is going to take place on the evening of 26 September in Seville, Spain, will welcome high-ranking speakers from Europe and the US to present in a unique manner.

High-end HVACR equipment laboratory highlights connectivity approach

Brussels, Madrid, 5 July 2018. For the second edition in a row, laboratory CEIS (Testing, Innovation and Services Center or centro de ensayos, innovación y servicios) has become the official Connectivity Partner (sponsor) of the 2018 Eurovent Summit in Seville, Spain. 

On 30 November 2016, the European Commission presented a new package of measures with the goal of providing the stable legislative framework needed to facilitate the clean energy transition and towards the creation of the Energy Union. Some of the measures are now nearing their publication, including the revision of a few revised directives.

Global testing and certification company to emphasise Cybersecurity in European HVACR solutions

Brussels, Carugate, 29 June 2018. UL, a global service provider to the HVACR industry and beyond, has become the official Cybersecurity Leader (sponsor) of the 2018 Eurovent Summit in Seville, Spain. UL is going to emphasise its cybersecurity approach and expertise during Europe’s major gathering for key HVACR decision-makers.

Development towards coordinated global actions

Following earlier meetings with ASHRAE, Eurovent was invited to the AASA (ASHRAE Associate Society Alliance) meetings on 22 and 23 April 2018. The goal of the meeting was to investigate if an HVAC&R Global Alliance should be established. The meeting also included a most useful overview of UN actions in the field of HVACR.

Heat recovery ventilation is expected to be a major ventilation solution

REHVA and Eurovent have released their guidebook on heat recovery ventilation. It includes the latest ventilation technology and knowledge about the ventilation system performance, intended to be used by HVAC designers, consultants, contractors, and other practitioners. This first joint guidebook of REHVA and Eurovent is part of an increasing cooperation between the two associations, with more publications and joint initiatives to follow.
