Next edition of Europe’s HVACR flagship event to take place from 12 to 15 October 2021

Owing to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, the organisers of the EUROVENTSUMMIT have announced the postponement of its upcoming edition to 2021. Initially scheduled for September 2020, it will now take place from 12 to 15 October 2021 in Antalya, Turkey.

Review study space and water heaters, Energy Efficiency Directive recommendations and EEPliant3

The month of September has seen the release of a few documents. Of these, the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling review study for space and water heaters will interest manufacturers of heat pumps. The methodology to forecast and promote efficiency in heating and cooling has been improved, this will mainly affect the development of the national forecasts (including threats and opportunities for technologies). Lastly, the EEPLIANT3 activities have started. 

Next edition of Europe’s HVACR flagship event to take place in Antalya, Turkey

Representatives of ISKID (Turkey’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manufacturers’ Association) and Eurovent signed an agreement to jointly organise the 2020 EUROVENTSUMMIT. They announced that the next edition of Europe’s major gathering for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from 22 to 25 September 2020.

Take-aways from the launch conference on 19 June 2019

The EEPLIANT project, involving 20 Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs), has received 6.800.000 EUR funding for the 3rd phase, of which 1.500.000 EUR for testing. Six additional products will be investigated, including air conditioners and comfort fans, ventilation units, water and local space heaters. 

It will apply from 16 July 2021 with a Union Product Compliance Network (UPCN) set up by 1 January 2021

This Regulation applies to all products subject to EU harmonised Regulations, e.g. Ecodesign implementing Regulations and provides for an enforcement of market surveillance activities, including the set-up of the UPCN. Within the Regulation, Article 9 opens the possibility for Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs) and organisations representing economic operators (for example Eurovent) to agree to carry out joint activities in view of promoting compliance, identifying non-compliance and raising awareness about EU harmonised legislation.
