Inventor of modern air-conditioning joins growing membership base

The step sends a strong message to reinforce cooperation and coordination through the region’s leading HVACR industry association. Carrier acknowledges the importance of a collaborative framework highlighting the market’s need for guidance, regulation, education, and awareness for available technologies amid the transition to low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants. With the ratification of the Kigali amendment imminent in the GCC, steps to enable the phase-out of F-Gases and the introduction of alternatives will require the combined efforts of the industry to assist governments in the implementation of adequate regulatory guidance.

The Middle East’s HVACR association further grows its membership base

Global technology and engineering pioneer Regal Rexnord partners with the region’s HVACR Industry Association, in support of joint initiatives in regulatory development, education, and raising awareness on energy efficiency and sustainability. The decision reinforces Eurovent Middle East’s position as an influential factor in shaping industry standards and providing technical guidance to regional markets.

Andrea Cavalet elected as new President

During its Annual Meeting on 02 May 2024, members of the region’s leading HVACR Association elected Mr Andrea Cavalet (General Manager, Epta Middle East), as President, supported by Mr Morten Schmelzer (Head of Group Public Affairs, Systemair) as Vice-President. The new Board of Directors brings refreshed energy as the Association prepares for another prolific year of activities.

The hands-on course qualifies HVACR technicians for refrigerant handling

Eurovent Middle East awarded the first certificates for F-Gas handling to eleven HVACR engineers and technicians from refrigeration specialist EPTA Middle East. During the three-day course, which is part of the association’s HVACR Leadership Academy, technicians were trained on the correct handling and treatment of HVACR equipment containing fluorinated greenhouse gases. It is dedicated to all professionals who wish to learn the best practices to install and perform servicing activities such as maintenance, repair, recovery, leakage checking as well as dismantling RAC systems containing F-Gases.

The Middle East’s HVACR sector association grows its regional profile

From a longstanding history of collaboration, Mekar's association with Eurovent now extends to Eurovent Middle East. This move presents Mekar as the latest addition to the expanding consortium of industry players uniting to promote the adoption of sustainable technologies. The step underscores the increasing significance of collaboration among industry organisations in addressing HVACR sector challenges and advancing regulations for the Middle East region.

In an interview with Systemair, Sylvain Courtey, President of Eurovent Certita Certification, discusses what makes a Eurovent-certified HAHU stand out from other programmes and why hygienic features should be a standard offering for air handling units in all types of applications, particularly in countries in the Middle East.

Systemair experts discuss the publication of the highly popular Eurovent Recommendation 6/18 - 2022: Quality criteria for Air Handling Units, whom it was designed for and why consultants should reference it in future projects.

Stephan Eder, Director, Business Unit Climate Technology, Hoval, elaborates on the differential pressure at the plate heat exchanger and the importance of paying attention to the arrangement of the fans.
