Carrier teams up with Eurovent Middle East

Inventor of modern air-conditioning joins growing membership base

Dubai, 11 June 2024. The step sends a strong message to reinforce cooperation and coordination through the region’s leading HVACR industry association. Carrier acknowledges the importance of a collaborative framework highlighting the market’s need for guidance, regulation, education, and awareness for available technologies amid the transition to low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants. With the ratification of the Kigali amendment imminent in the GCC, steps to enable the phase-out of F-Gases and the introduction of alternatives will require the combined efforts of the industry to assist governments in the implementation of adequate regulatory guidance.

Since its inception, Carrier has been prolific in developing and introducing new technologies in the air conditioning and indoor climate segments. Sustainability, energy efficiency and the refrigerant transition are cornerstone values when it comes to product development and performance, concepts which go hand-in-hand with core issues outlined by the Association.

Sathya Moorthi, Managing Director of Carrier Middle East, said: “We are happy to contribute towards providing technical guidance through a neutral voice dedicated to the growth and sustainability of the HVACR industry. Eurovent Middle East is an ideal platform to coordinate industry initiatives within the region, be it on regulatory aspects, education, or simply creating awareness in the market about the latest available technologies. We look forward to cooperating with the region’s leading manufacturers to jointly assist in the implementation and application of higher standards.”

Markus Lattner, Managing Director of Eurovent Middle East, added: “The actions we take today will shape the sustainable future we desire. The support of Carrier is a valuable endorsement of the work we have done so far to establish a strong industry association for our sector. The pertinent insights and contribution that Carrier will bring to our community as we continue to push for sustainability and energy efficiency not only complement our efforts but also strengthen our ability to face future challenges and enhance our capabilities in providing education, legislative inputs, and industry guidance.”
