Long-serving Chairmen Kees van Haperen and Gunnar Berg pass on leadership to younger generation

Zoetermeer, 5 October 2017. During their meeting of the Eurovent Association Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, members have elected Mr Martin Lenz (TROX GmbH, Germany) as their Chairman and Mr Andy Bijmans (Systemair B.V, Netherlands) as their Vice-Chairman. The two take on their positions from Mr Kees van Haperen (Rosenberg, Netherlands) and Mr Gunnar Berg (Swegon, Sweden). Van Haperen had been leading the Product Group since 2002. Both of them had been active participants since the 1990s and now decided to pass their Chairmanship on to a new generation.

On 457 pages, this Guide provides explanations of the concepts and requirements of the Machinery Directive to ensure uniform interpretation and application in the EU. At present, the new guide is available in English only. Translation into the other EU languages is expected.

Eurovent Middle East offers a wide-ranging programme at Saudi Arabia’s major HVACR exhibition

For the third year in a row, the Eurovent Association, in cooperation with Eurovent Middle East, is ‘Supporting Association’ for the HVACR Expo Saudi (14-16 January 2018, Jeddah). To further strengthen the presence of our members in Saudi Arabia, we are offering a wide-ranging programme in the course of the exhibition, including, for the first time, a dedicated Eurovent Pavillion.

Next edition of Europe’s HVACR flagship event to take place in Seville, Spain

Madrid, 26 June 2017. During a dedicated meeting in Madrid, representatives of AEFYT (Spanish Association for Refrigeration Technology), AFEC (Spanish Association for Manufacturers of Air Conditioning Equipment) and the Eurovent Association have signed an agreement to jointly organise the 2018 Eurovent Summit. It was announced that the next edition of Europe’s major gathering for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies is going to take place in Seville, Spain, from 25 to 28 September.

The European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) recognised that there is, notwithstanding declarations by politicians, no real model to develop a decarbonised energy system for the European Union by 2050. To address this issue, EHPA started an initiative called ‘DecarbHeat’, which would develop policy guidance, asking policy makers to define framework conditions that put a price on carbon. Naci Sahin to support Rasmussen as First Vice-President

Versailles, 19 May 2017. During their 60th Annual Meeting in Versailles, France, members of the Eurovent Association from more than 20 countries have unanimously confirmed the presidency of Alex Rasmussen, who is going to serve Europe’s Industry Association for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies for an additional year. Rasmussen has been leading the Eurovent Association since May 2015 on a mandate of the Danish Ventilation association.
