Leading manufacturer from the UAE joins Eurovent

SKM Air Conditioning to further strengthen the association’s footprint in the GCC region

Brussels, Sharjah, 19 May 2016. S.K.M Air Conditioning has joined the Eurovent association as Corresponding Member following a formal approval by the Eurovent Board. With SKM, Eurovent welcomes yet another leading manufacturer from the GCC region to its association family. Founded in 1974, the company headquartered in Sharjah close to Dubai manufactures a large range of high quality HVAC products including, for example, air handling units, chillers, condensing units, fan coil units, and packaged units.

As winner of the 2015 Climate Control Awards, an annual award given to forward-thinking HVACR organisations active in the UAE, and a manufacturer of products that hold the ‘Eurovent Certified Performance’ mark, S.K.M Air Conditioning LLC has gained a leading position reaching far beyond the United Arab Emirates. The company today employs over 1500 people and has a sales network reaching across the EMEA region.

‘Joining the Eurovent Association is exactly in line with SKM’s mission to grow internationally with high efficiency products and competent employees to provide consistent quality and customer satisfaction’, states Mr Abdul Karim Al Saleh, COO of SKM. ‘European legislation and standards have become increasingly important to manufacturers from the Middle East. Not only as export to European countries has increased, but also as we aim to take these forward-thinking legislations and standards as an example for our own region. With a strong growth of air conditioning equipment sales in GCC countries, we need to put Indoor Air Quality as a key priority on the environmental agenda. Eurovent is playing a major role in this respect.’

Throughout the past two years, the Eurovent association has intensified its activities in the GCC and provides dedicated services to its regional member base. A specific focus is being put in ensuring a level-playing field, raising awareness on ISO standards as a global reference, and sharing the association’s long-term experiences made in the area of energy efficiency, Ecodesign, and environmental protection.
