Eurovent Middle East, the region’s Industry Association for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration has announced its 5 years anniversary congress titled ‘HVACR Next Generation: Rethinking policies and strategies’, which takes place on 13-14 September at the LeMeridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre. Government representatives, authorities and industry executives will exchange on the most pressing issues of the industry and discuss policies and strategies for the next decade.
During its Annual Meeting on 22 March 2022, members of the Association of the Region’s Leading HVACR manufacturers re-elected Mr Tariq Al Ghussein (CEO, Taqeef), as President, supported by Mr Rafael Van Eijcken (General Manager, Baltimore Aircoil) as Vice-President. Eurovent Middle East showed strong resilience during the pandemic years, which also manifested in the attendance of 40 representatives from its members, the highest number yet for an Annual Meeting.
Dubai, 8 April 2020. Several governments around the world have imposed shutdowns of non-essential businesses as part of the measures to contain the COVID-19 outbreak. In some countries, this includes manufacturers, suppliers and service professionals of HVACR equipment. Eurovent Middle East, along with other international industry organisations have published a Position Paper to warn of severe consequences to critical infrastructure if the supply and servicing of HVACR equipment is halted.
Eurovent Middle East has published its Annual Report of 2019, looking back on its activities in its third year of existence. Started in January 2017 with 22 members, the association has grown to currently 46 members and in 2019 implemented dedicated working groups for technical and regulatory issues for Cooling, Air Treatment, Refrigeration and Evaporative Cooling. As outcome of the two-year Special Project ‘Evaporative Cooling 2030’, the Eurovent Association has published a set of documents including a new Eurovent Recommendation and a dedicated flyer, providing a clear overview of what the evaporative cooling industry saves in terms of CO2 emissions today and what it can save tomorrow. These documents are complemented by the first-ever European evaporative cooling industry monograph providing a clear indication on its size and scope.
Eurovent Middle East has published a Position Paper outlining the socio-economic benefits of introducing a mandatory building inspection regime in the UAE. In light of numerous efforts by government, industries and professional organisations to increase energy efficiency and the countries dependency on cooling and refrigeration, the association suggests giving HVACR installations in the current building stock particular attention.
Representatives of ISKID (Turkey’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manufacturers’ Association) and Eurovent signed an agreement to jointly organise the 2020 EUROVENTSUMMIT. They announced that the next edition of Europe’s major gathering for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from 22 to 25 September 2020.

Abu Dhabi, Dubai, 30 January 2019. The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) and Eurovent Middle East have announced the formation of a joint working group to develop Conformity Assessment Schemes for Air Handling Units and Fan Coil Units. The association of the region’s leading HVACR manufacturers will encourage organisation and coordination of industry stakeholders and is calling on interested manufacturers to join the working group.
